Foundation Year One

The International Foundation Programme (IFP) is a short programme designed to prepare non-EU students for UK undergraduate courses.

Module of the course

The International Foundation Programme Business Management course is a one-year programme designed to prepare EU and overseas students for an undergraduate degrees.

You’ll be introduced to key concepts in business management, develop key study and English language skills, and gain an orientation to higher education in the UK.

It will also introduce you to academic study in the UK and, if necessary, help you to reach a level equivalent to at least 5.5 IELTS in English. You'll be registered as a University student, and successful students are guaranteed a place on a suitable degree course at University.

Entry requirement

You should have:

  • Good results in 12 years of education and have completed high school or similar in your own country

You can apply before you have your results.

When you apply for this course, we will often also make you a conditional offer for your chosen degree course, conditional upon you passing the International Foundation Programme and the required modules.

After the course

If you pass the International Foundation Programme (IFP) you'll be automatically offered a place on a business management-related undergraduate degree.

You can study the IFP from September to June or from January to July.
